The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical is an optics ready tactical semi-automatic shotgun that raises the bar for tactical shotguns across the industry. The 940 Pro Tactical features receiver cuts that accept low-profile direct mounting of Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot sights. Red dot sights are increasingly popular choices for all firearm types, including shotguns, thanks to the ease of use and improved target acquisition they offer. This shotgun also has an improved gas system which allows up to 1500 rounds to be fired between cleanings. A nickel-boron coating on internal parts helps to improve corrosion resistance and an enlarged/beveled loading port, elongated elevator, and anodized follower help the 940 Pro Tactical achieve silky smooth operation. The synthetic stock is adjustable for length-of-pull via the use of spacers and recoil pads, and the grip and forend feature texturing to give a more secure grip on the shotgun. Also included is a barrel clamp with M-LOK mounting slots for the easy addition of M-LOK compatible accessories such as flashlights or lasers. With the addition of the 940 Pro Tactical to their lineup, Mossberg has absolutely set a new bar for tactical semi-auto shotguns.
